A A few days ago on the blog ArtPrintIssues.com, I read with great interest the post "Three-tiered Approach to Art Marketing Works Out". I am happy to mention it since it litteraly writes down the contemporary artist marketing strategy we advocate.
Many artists in France are reluctant to work with us fearing the selling of their art work ad prints would hamper the selling of their original art work. On top of this, they often dispise art prints for being just a pale copy of their creation. To these artists, I would recommend the following three-tier approach based on the visual artist Mary Erickson mentionned in this blog post. One can offer different products with different price ranges:
1- High End Products: original art pieces2 - Medium End Products: limited edition art prints, signed by the artist himself
3 - Low End Products: open edition art prints (such as prints on demand purchased online)
To my opinion, many visual artists can model Mary Erickson's strategy for their own art business and try to develop sales
